I tried this perfume in my 20s and didn’t like it, I thought it smelled too ‘mature’. it is like Feve delicieuse dior with tons of green bay leaf added. So soft, mild. If you're looking for strong tonka, try it out. Lalique Le Parfum is the perfect vanilla with something more: it’s sweet, it’s spicy, it’s balsamic... but all that has been done before. Sliver ball gowns and smoky eyelids, Eiffel Tower high heels, ballrooms, champagne, fountains, the starry night sky, London during the night. To me this is mostly Vanilla with a slight note of other ingredient (cannot specify which one). A keeper. the greenness fades a little in the dry down and you are left with interesting dry tonka/vanilla skin scent. It gives off a powdery floral vanilla musky scent on me. To me the new and the old ones are so similar, that one can make a difference only if they spray both on both hands and compare. It's too masculine for me. Well done. I detested this perfume the first time I tried it. Cacao, almond, heliotrop, very nice. It's an elegant, simple blend of vanilla, powder and musk on me. All in all this is a very wearable, cool weather scent (have to try it in warm weather still) that is a bit different. The Indian Bay Leaf makes this powdery vanilla delight something special. There’s nothing like it. It is a boozy, smokey, powdery vanilla that could definitely be a MM spinoff. This is an absolute cheapie (30 bucks for a bug bottle) that is worth it's price ten times over. This isn't like the sweet, sugary vanillas I normally wear. You would need to be in a large open space to wear it without overwhelming your company. The "sandalwood" is noticeable but as with many fragrances that list sandalwood these days, it smells a little generic sawdust-y but since it doesn't dominate, doesn't wreck the scent for me. I find the vanilla rather dry and a bit herbal in the opening but without loosing it's warmth. A creamy mix of almond and vanilla, with the bay leaf throwing in a dash of something green and fresh, but only a little pinch really. Classy and smells rich. This though is so different and delicious. Also, my husband hasn't said anything negative, so that's a good sign! İ cant really get any vanilla in this. The dry down is my favorite! I think a male could wear it very well but would not class it unisex - it's still quite feminine to my nose. So when the opportunity came, I blind purchased it. This can easily be a unisex fragrance. The longevity is very good too. Here is a tip, mix with Aquolina Pink Sugar (yeah, i said it) and it will last forever and you will receive major compliments (this is not a fable). There was a big similiarity indeed between dior homme intense and lalique.
